How to Phish using Host Files

The third step is to edit the hosts file on a Windows device

First, you need to know where the host’s file is located. To open the target system’s hosts file go to location:- C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

So, here is your hosts file exists as shown in the image below:

On the host file you need to do the following:

After the install guidelines and warnings on the page, you will find at least one entry:

127.0.0.1 localhost

below this, type the line in this format:

[IP ADDRESS] [DOMAIN NAME]

192.168.x.x  www.nameofsite.com

Name of the site you want to hack: www.nameofsite.com

Ip address: The Ip address/link you want the target to be redirected to.

Obviously, if you have access to the system then hacking is easier. Just go and edit the host’s file. Then you can skip step 2. But step 1 is a must for hacking social media like Facebook Twitter etc.
